More from Golden Boy Obama

Retiring Democrat Congressman Marion Berry of Arkansas just made some comments concerning his retirement in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

Basically, he is trying to warn Democrats to stop going down the path that they are on, unless they want to see another bloodbath in the 2010 elections like the one that occurred for them in 1994 (Dems lost 54 seats in Congress).  He urged them “not to force Blue Dogs ‘off into that swamp’ of supporting bills that would be unpopular with voters back home.”

In addition though, he notes that when this was mentioned to Obama, he said Well, the big difference here and in ’94 was you’ve got me.”

I’m not sure how long it’s going to take Obama to realize this, and maybe he already has, but you can’t fix things with speeches, image, looks, poise, hope or change (or any of the other things that caused people to fall in love with him).  At some point people are going to realize that you can’t follow through with the things you’ve promised and they will turn against you.
