US Teen Pregnancy Rate Up

According to the AFP (read it here at Breitbart), in 2006 the teen pregnancy rate rose for the first time since 1990.

The report said that “experts” blame this on abstinence-only sex education in schools.  They then cite the Guttmacher Institute as this expert, who said the occurrence was “deeply troubling” and “coincides with an increase in rigid abstinence-only-until-marriage programs, which received major funding boosts under the Bush administration.”

Now, according to Wikipedia, the Guttmacher Institute is a “semi-autonomous division of The Planned Parenthood Federation of America.” So basically what is being reported here is that a pro-abortion group is mad that someone suggested that kids not have sex.  Shocking.

So to sum up, apparently the reason that parents are not providing proper guidance and supervision to their children and thus allowing them to have sex and get pregnant at a young age is because of the fact that schools advised them to not have sex.  Brilliant logic.
