IRS buying shotguns!

Posted: 3rd February 2010 by Scott @ The Right of a Nation in General Politics

Wait, they never mentioned this part in the Taxman song!

The IRS is apparently in the market for 60 Remington 870 shotguns!  Pay up everyone!

“The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) intends to purchase sixty Remington Model 870 Police RAMAC #24587 12 gauge pump-action shotguns for the Criminal Investigation Division. The Remington parkerized shotguns, with fourteen inch barrel, modified choke, Wilson Combat Ghost Ring rear sight and XS4 Contour Bead front sight, Knoxx Reduced Recoil Adjustable Stock, and Speedfeed ribbed black forend, are designated as the only shotguns authorized for IRS duty based on compatibility with IRS existing shotgun inventory, certified armorer and combat training and protocol, maintenance, and parts.”

  1. PatHenry says:

Funny how the great unwashed citizenry is limited, by federal law, to a minimum of 18″ barrel on any shotgun, but the government is allowed to have a 14″ barrel on their guns!

  2. Scott says:

Maybe some of the non-taxpayers have really small houses, and the IRS needs better maneuverability for those situations?

  3. Mike says:

Are these guys kidding? I cannot believe that not paying taxes is punishable by death at the hands of the IRS monsters. Isn’t this exactly what OUR second amendment for? Answer: yes

  4. Mac says:

1.3trillion in debt and a office that is administrative (or should be anyway) is buying shotguns, we are closer and closer to Nazi Germany every day! now not only can they come in and take everything you have including the t-shirt on your back but they can shoot you as well. WTF??? go to a flat tax and get rid of the division, that will save some money!

  5. MSJ says:

” shotguns, with fourteen inch barrel”, aka entry guns. As in we are going to kick in your front door.

  6. db says:

the flat tax looks better and better.

  7. FLEO says:

Many people are not aware of the full range of investigations that IRS CI performs. Outside of general tax enforcement, CI is a MAJOR portion of OCDETF task forces, which partner with the DEA, State and Local LEs. These task forces investigate drug related crimes. I promise you that not all CIs are just investigating white collar criminals.

  8. Red says:

Gee, who would have thought that seizing cars and cash from hoodlums, gangbangers, and dopers could be dangerous! To paraphrase their favorite non-taxpayer, a smile and a shotgun will get you farther than a smile (Capone).

  9. Al Worthington says:

The IRS has a law-enforcement division that deals with criminal matters. In most cases failure to pay tax is a CIVIL matter not a criminal matter. No reason to get bent out of shape.

  10. CISA says:

Question for anyone who has a problem with the IRS having these shotguns. Would anyone walk into a drug dealers house on a search warrant without being armed?? Hell no you wouldn’t, if you would you are absolutely insane. The IRS law-enforcement deals with criminal matters mostly. This is nothing new…

  11. freedom says:

I knew an IRS Special Agents – he always said he didn’t monkey around with 99% of the civil aspects of the IRS. The times he recounted using body armor /shotguns/ kicking in doors was when working along side FBI/DEA/Customs against criminals – not some failure to file tax charge.

  12. Bay Area Patriot says:

They best keep that way if they know what is good for them. Someone kicks in my door without proper cause, I have something for them…..

  13. FLEO says:

Bay Area. This isn’t East Germany. We don’t kick in doors without proper cause. And trust me, or bang is bigger than yours.

  14. Scott says:

There have been cases of mistakes being made during “no-knock warrants” though – wrong house, etc.

  15. backtrack says:

wouldn’t a plain field grade 870 for one third the price work just as well? We’ve had to go on a major budget kick out here amongst the citizenry- why can’t you guys too, especially since you make more and have better benefits than the rest of us and don’t really PRODUCE anything beyond revenues for our diseased Federalgovt. Don’t beleive it- check out N Pelosi.

Thank you for posting this! I really like your site!

  19. GreenClover says:

Well, it is an indirect way for our govt. to start arming all federal agents. This is just another way of doing it unless it’s reported as this article does.

If ur interested, there is a new book just out about a small town that finally stands up to federal tyranny & ends up starting the 2nd American Revolution.

Great read!! ause it could be ur town or mine. I recommend it for 2010 with more of this to come.

  20. Freedom Lover says:

Just another reason to consider something new. Try checking out the Libertarian Party:

  21. Taxman says:

CI is a law enforcement division that is set up to handle dangerous matters. You wouldn’t get upset if the FBI or your local police were getting these. And for those that think that the government is just trying to arm all Federal Agents, I’m one, but I’m not allowed to be armed on the job. Yet we still have to deal with nuts out there that would fly their plane into our buildings because they owe a little money.

  22. A. Cole says:

In addition to the IRS, I heard the EPA and the Illinois school district were being armed as well. Sorry I don’t have a source other than a caller on either Quinn & Rose or Glenn Beck’s show (I think). If not them, then Rush, Sean, or Mark Levin’s show. Anyway, if I find a concrete source, I’ll be sure to post it.
