New Baby!

I know my blog hasn’t been around too long and I don’t have a whole lot of loyal followers, but I thought I should note that I haven’t been posting too much lately because of the fact that my wife and I just had our first child this past week!

It looks like there’s a lot of stuff going on in the political world at this time but I feel confident that you can get great coverage of recent events by visiting the sites listed in my blogroll.

  1. A. Cole says:

CONGRATULATIONS! God bless you all! But remember, you can’t use this excuse for at least another nine months (ha, ha)! Seriously, I’m very happy for you all, hope the baby (boy? girl? don’t want to release personal info – I understand) is very healthy and pray you all have a wonderful life together. As far as sleep – fagetaboutit! And that’s NO joke! On a serious note – DON’T BE AFRAID/EMBARRASSED to seek help from friends and family – YOU NEED SLEEP AND DOWN TIME. I tried to do it all when my daughter was born. My husband was busy working, I was working at home. After six too-good-to-be-true weeks, my daughter became colicky and my nightmare began. Without any family in the area and too proud to ask friends for help, I almost ended up in a nut house. Learn from my mistake – get as much help as you can because if you’re too tired to function, you can’t be a good parent! Sorry, didn’t mean to preach or ramble, but they grow up so fast, you know, and you want every moment to be perfect because you don’t get a chance to do it over again. lots of luck and God bless!

  2. Thanks for the wishes and advice!

We definitely aren’t getting a whole lot of sleep right now, but at least she (it’s a girl!) is on a decent schedule of eating about every 3 hours so we are getting a little! We have heard that around 6 weeks they may start getting really fussy and we are praying that doesn’t happen!

We do plan on letting our family keep her as often as possible in order to keep a routine of having “date nights” for ourselves.

Thanks again for all the kind words!
